NGP Welcomes, our new President Shanequa Yates


Shanequa Yates is a three year resident of Gresham Park with deep roots in South DeKalb County and will serve as the next President of Neighbors of Gresham Park. Shanequa's background includes 15 years working in K-12 education and nonprofit management, including her current role at TNTP, a national educational nonprofit where she currently works as Partner, Southeast Consulting Division. Shanequa deeply believes in the power of people to drive transformational change in society. As such she actively works to promote principles that foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Shanequa is a certified facilitator for the National SEED (Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity) project and supports educators in building knowledge and skills to promote educational equity. Shanequa engages in collaborative community conversations, addressing issues of race, gender, economics, and politics as a facilitator of Equitable Dinners Atlanta and recent participant of the inaugural cohort of the Institute for Equity Activism. Shanequa is excited to work with the 2021 NGP board of directors, partnering with elected officials, schools, and businesses to provide the neighbors of Gresham Park an inclusive voice in their community.
